Devonshire 50’s and 60’s Special Entertainment, June 10th and 11th.
We’ve just hosted another great weekend in Torquay, with our 50’s and 60’s entertainment special. Lee Randall was again host and compere for the weekend, not only introducing the acts, but also giving out extra prizes of Daish’s Holiday Vouchers for the best and most enthusiastic dancers, best costumes, and for anyone who could Twist AND Shout!
The weekend opened with multi-talented and Hank Marvin lookalike, Ian Lockyer, followed by the Temple Brothers tribute to the Everly Brothers.
The Saturday headline was 60’s superstar Brian Poole. His band, the Electrix, opened the evening, with a perfect 60’s sound - based on the skills of their amazing drummer, who is now well into his 80s, bringing everyone up onto the dance floor.
Then Brian himself joined in, not only with the songs, but with great stories from that great decade. He closed the evening in style with the classic Liverpool anthem “You’ll Never Walk Alone” with everyone linking arms and joining in.
As usual, the weekend was fully booked well in advance. Look out for our next dates in the autumn!
