£1m Renovation of Daish’s Hotel, Shanklin
The view from the garden gives no hint of the extensive building work currently happening at Daish’s Hotel.
However, work continues on improvements to our flagship hotel, Daish’s Hotel in Shanklin. We are currently in the process of completely rebuilding 22 rooms at our Isle of Wight hotel and refurbishing some of the remaining rooms. In addition wea are building a new conservatory style restaurant. The main bar and entertainment area has been redesigned completely.
Our new chef has been cooking up a storm with a new menu, helped by the newly rebuilt and enlarged kitchen.
These photos taken this week show how the building work is progressing. Despite the work continuing we are positive that this won’t affect our guests stay too much. It is expected that the work will be completed in August 2014. (Please note that during this work our customer car park is closed, however there is a public car park opposite the hotel.)
Our builders are having to work around some existing walls to retain the features of this historic building.
Inside the Hotel the improvements are clear to see in this updated Arabella room.
How far north do you pick up
Currently our most northern pick ups are from Yorkshire. This route collects from Halifax, Bradford, Leeds, Wakefield, Sheffield and Chesterfield.
I understand that children under six go free but when I try to input the number of beds (obviously the 3 year old will need a bed) it makes me input him as a child and shows me a charge. Is this correct? I am looking at the Barrowfield Hotel
Hi, our website can’t currently book under 6’s but this is something that is being worked on. Please call our reservations team on 01803 201432 to make your booking instead.

There will be a wide range of activities, events and promotions taking place – all revolving around the theme of the sea.
These events will include musical events, art displays, fishing, cookery displays and food-tasting, opportunities to charter boats, open days and talks.
This year’s Festival of the Sea will be headlined by the Round the Island Race, a massive yacht race featuring some of the biggest names in sailing and often considered to be the “London Marathon” of sailing.
