when is Turkey and Tinsel at Bournemouth Sands?

Turkey and Tinsel – at all Daish’s holidays in late October, November and December.
Daish’s offers Turkey and Tinsel Group Holidays in its four hotels; Daish’s in Shanklin, the Devonshire in Torquay; the Barrowfield in Newquay and the Bournemouth Sands.
An undoubted Daish’s highlight, Tinsel and Turkey tours start in all hotels during the last week in October and run right through until Christmas itself. The hotels are fully decorated and their staff all enter into the spirit, bringing Christmas cheer at the end of the year. Each day represents a day from the Christmas period, featuring the traditions of that day, with live entertainment, bingo and dancing each night – and pressies for all.
Book now online, or by phone with the J-Team.
PS. Many dates are already full, so “book early to avoid disappointment”
TWO NEW CORNWALL EXCURSIONS – INCLUDING THE MAGNIFICENT SUB-TROPICAL TREBAH GARDENS and the NEW WORLD HERITAGE SITE “HEARTLANDS CORNWALL”
On the south coast of Cornwall, just outside Falmouth, sits the magnificent Trebah estate, a magnificent sub-tropical valley garden sweeping down towards its own beach on the Helford River. Trebah is a riot of colour from early Spring, with a vast collection of Magnolias, Camelias, Rhododendrons, Hydrangea, water gardens, huge trees and Gunnera (giant rhubarb). Regarded as one of the world’s greatest gardens, Trebah also has a great cafe and garden shop and fascinating history – including a pivotal role in the D-Day landings.
“Heartlands Cornwall” at Camborne, is a fascinating centre dedicated to the history of tin-mining, and the legacy of Cornish tin miners as they exported their skills all over the world. With its exhibits, displays, arts and craft studios, live entertainment, gardens of the world, and regular markets, we are sure this will soon become a very popular visitor destination – and it’s FREE to enter!
The Barrowfield will be offering two day excursions including Trebah Gardens, (and possibly a stop at St Michaels Mount and a visit to the Cyder Farm on the return home) and HEARTLANDS (also including Cornish Treasure)
SIMON RUNS THE LONDON MARATHON IN UNDER FOUR HOURS!!
BIG congratulations from all at Daish’s to the Devonshire’s Simon Singleton who, we have just heard, completed the London Marathon in the AMAZING time of 3hrs 56 minutes.
We’ll add details, stories and photos as soon as he’s back (if he can walk up the hill to the hotel!) - and let you know how much he has raised from our wonderful Daish’s guests for his charity. It was well over £2000 at the last count.
“HEARTLANDS” BRAND NEW VISITOR ATTRACTION IN CORNWALL – IT’S A FASCINATING WORLD HERITAGE SITE AND IT’S FREE!
It’s great to announce the opening of a major new attraction near one of our hotels. Just 20 miles from our Newquay Barrowfield Hotel is the new “Heartlands Cornwall”. It’s a fascinating centre dedicated to the history of tin-mining, and the legacy of Cornish tin miners as they exported their skills all over the world. With its exhibits, displays, arts and craft studios, live entertainment, gardens of the world, and regular markets, we are sure this will soon become a very popular visitor destination for groups and individuals – and it’s FREE to enter!
It’s great for kids too, with one of the biggest playgrounds in Cornwall!!
It’s official - people really do like to be beside the seaside!
It’s great when a research project tells us something we all thought we knew! In this study, presented to the British Psychological Society, researchers found that being at the seaside has a more positive effect than the countryside or an urban park. The study looked at responses from 2,750 people in England over two years, comparing their experiences of the seaside, countryside and urban parks
They found that being beside the coast was significantly more likely to create a feeling of well-being. While all of these could be refreshing, the greatest sense of pleasure came from exercising beside the sea – no matter how old, where you come from and when you were visiting.
The study found that whatever your age, the seaside was always identified as being a more positive experience than other inland parks or country walks!
Those who were travelling alone were particularly likely to get more enjoyment from the coast.
So, now that it’s official, we hope you take advantage of Daish’s great south coast summer offers – you’ll feel much better for it!

Do you still pickup at Penzance?

Anonymous
From April, our main Cornwall route has changed, and Hayle (outside McDonalds on A30 roundabout) will be the first pick up at 08.15. Pasenger numbers from Penzance have been falling in recent years, so we will no longer be picking up there (though will continue to do collect Penzance passengers who have already booked with us in 2012).
