SEQUENCE DANCE LESSONS ON A DAISH’S HOLIDAY.

I thought I would give you a short report on our first Tuition Tour at The Barrowfield last week. First of all, I didn’t get to see Richard before we were whisked away on the coach, so would you please pass on our grateful thanks for all the help that he and his staff gave us during our stay. He allowed us not only to use the equipment during the afternoons but also in the evenings between dinner and Bingo.

The tuition was most enjoyable and was well received by the guests. We had two couples that knew a little bit about Sequence dancing but many that had never done it before. Everyone seemed to enjoy our teaching methods (learn, and have a laugh at the same time!) and there were other guests that came along just to watch and sing along to our music.

We were especially pleased to be able to put on some dancing after dinner (between 7.45 and 8.30pm) and many guests who were not able to come during the afternoon (out on coach trips etc) joined us on the floor to do some of the dances that we had taught during the afternoon.

Some we understand are definitely thinking of coming back to Newquay on 22nd February and also some have great interest in our two future visits to Torquay. And most pleasing for us was the fact that quite a few people have decided to join Sequence Dance classes when they return home!

Thank you again for your help and guidance, and we will see you soon.

Mike and Audrey

Have you discontinued pick-ups from Torquay? If so, then please take me off you mailing list as I have no way to get to Exeter Services. I have enjoyed your trips in the past when you used to pick-up in Torquay. Regards

One of our new regular pickups in 2012 is Newton Abbot (Penn Inn Roundabout) on all CS routes out of Cornwall to Bournemouth and Shanklin. We are also looking at adding Newton Abbot on some dates to Newquay too . So, although we wont be starting in Torquay, we do get very close - much closer than Exeter Services!

PS. If you (or anyone) would like to be taken off our mailing list, we will need you name and postcode too. “anonymous” is quite hard to find among out 100,000 customers!!

DO YOU HAVE ANY PICK-UPS IN EASTLEIGH OR SOUTHAMPTON HAMPSHIRE
Anonymous

We have a number of new routes for 2012 - or new pickup points in existing areas. These include a 2nd Sussex route, starting in Hastings, and including Bexhill, Polegate, Lewes and Southampton. To check where our pick ups now are (we have almost 150 across the country), look on our website “find your holiday” search. you can search by “travelling from”, which will bring up a list of all holiday dates. if you click on “more info” you will see the pick-up points. Or you can call/email the office for a complete list.

Essex pick up

Why do you not offer an Essex pick up eg Chelmsford, for those who do not have own transport? Your coaches  must go through Essex to all your destinations.

Daish’s says… Ah, but we do! We have new Daish’s Essex route this year, with the first ones starting shortly. The route will be Ispwich, Colchester, Chelmsford, Rayleigh and Basildon - and then straight on to the hotel. See the website or call for more details. And tell your friends!

Do you actually encourage single people to stay at your hotels or discourage them?

now there’s a question! see the many previous blog posts for the full answer. but we certainly do our best to keep up with the insatiable demand for single rooms - we allocate more than we actually have, we don’t charge supplements for single rooms and, if they’ve all gone (which is often), we give the best price we possibly can for a larger room (which would normally be booked by 2 people).

Our best ever Christmas and New Year!

Our “festive season” guests have all now returned home, after what seems to have been, by all accounts, our best ever Christmas and New Year. All four hotels had been fully booked for Christmas for several weeks, mostly regulars of course, but many first timers as well. As usual, it was quite a challenge to match our coach routes with the demand – it’s the only time of year when we have to use feeder coaches or change coaches en route, though most ran to standard routes and times. Any changes were kept to a minimum, so that just about all coach guests arrived at the hotels by mid afternoon.

Christmas and New Year were “full board” with a lunch laid on each day in addition to English breakfast and three or four course dinners. Guests were kept royally entertained throughout the day, with excursions, raffles, quizzes and games, and of course great after dinner entertainment – with bingo, live music and dancing each evening. It all looked and sounded great fun.

The final big night, of course, is New Year’s Eve, with entertainment and dancing up to midnight and “auld lang syne”. Then the hotels put on a sumptuous midnight buffet – before more dancing into the New Year.

Many guests have already re-booked for Christmas/New Year 2012. If you would like to join them, call the Daish’s J-Team on 08448-464680, or book on www.daishs.com

(Please note that New Year at Newquay will be a four nights/five day holiday, from Dec 29th, for £319 by coach. All other New Year holidays are three nights/four days @£299.)

Harry’s 21st Birthday Celebration in Bournemouth (although he’s 84!!)
Harry Cox of Aldridge has just booked a late February holiday to Bournemouth with us.
“It’s a treat from my wife, Jenny, for my 21st birthday. Altough, actually, I’m 84 but, as I was born on Feb 29th, I’ve only had 20 “birthdays” in my whole life. This will be my first Daish’s holiday and we are really looking forward to it.”
Many congratulations, Harry, and best wishes from all at Daish’s for a marvellous “21st!”
